How to log in to the SkillsTrust platform for the first time

Applies to: all SkillsTrust platform users

Use this article the first time you log in to SkillsTrust.

Solution overview

Sign in at platform.ja.skillstrust.org, change your temporary password, then enable MFA from the Security tab in your account settings using an authenticator  app.

 Step 1: Log in to the platform

  1. Go to platform.ja.skillstrust.org and click Sign in. If you do not have an account, contact support@skillstrust.org.


  2. Enter your email address and click Next.


  3. Enter the temporary password you were given and click Continue.

Step 2: Set your own password

  1. On the Change password screen, enter a New password. It must be at least 12 characters and include a number, a lowercase letter, an uppercase letter and a special character. Each rule turns green as you meet it.

  2. Re-enter the same password under Confirm new password, then click Change password.


Step 3: Turn on multi-factor authentication (MFA)

MFA is not on by default, so you need to set it up. You need an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator, Authy or 1Password on your phone.

  1. Click Account at the bottom left, then open the Security tab. Under Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), click Enable MFA.


  2. Click Begin TOTP Setup.


  3. Open your authenticator app and scan the QR code on screen.
    1. If you cannot scan it, click Can't scan? Enter manually and use a unique secret key shown instead.



  4. Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app in the Verification code field, then click Verify & Enable TOTP.


  5. When you see the confirmation, click Return to Account Settings.


  6. The Security tab now shows MFA is enabled. From now on you enter a code from your authenticator app each time you log in.
